We helped CS3 Electronics Development LLC to produce a design
for a VHF locator and tracker called OWL (Orbital Whereabout Locator) to instantly locate spacecraft, their trajectory and current status.
On November 11, 2023, the EnduroSat Platform 5 mission launched. SpaceX’s Transporter-9 rocket carried a total of 113 CubeSats into Earth orbit, including a 3U CubeSat with an OWL instrument.
The aim of the project, which was initiated under the auspices of the European Space Agency (ESA), was to develop and test a system to facilitate the identification of satellites
in the initial phase of deployment and later mission support using satellite positioning
and tracking data.
In the event that a satellite is not working, OWL facilitates the download of data that can provide insight into the solution to the problem (e.g. incorrect thermal design or poor energy balance). Developers also benefit from not having to create separate systems for GNSS
and satellite angular velocity measurements, as OWL includes all of these features.
In addition, the instrument is not only able to operate from the power line coming
from the satellite, but also has its own internal battery.
Securing Flight Heritage with a reputable company such as C3S Electronics Development LLC is a crucial step for ONE3D. It confirms our capabilities in the high-risk space sector,
but also opens new horizons for future projects and collaborations.
This success is a clear demonstration of our expertise, reliability and ambition
to be at the forefront of space technology.
