Internship at ONE3D: Topology optimization of 2 parts

15. September 2021 Internship at ONE3D: Topology optimization of 2 parts

The award ceremony for the SVS FEM student competition for the best ANSYS project, the Prof. Jaroslav Buchar Award, took place at the headquarters of SVS FEM Ltd. in Brno. Our company, One3D, presented the prize, a one-week internship titled “Create an additive part”, which was awarded to Jakub Nosek for his work on the analysis of thermal behavior of the additive manufacturing process of micro-rod structures using AlSi10Mg (DP). Congratulations! We are already looking forward to next year.

Internship at one3d: topology optimization of 2 parts

This internship took place between September 13 and 17 at One3D’s headquarters in Mohelnice. First, Jakub was introduced to the manufacturing technology which One3D uses (SLS, SLA, MJF, DMLS). For his project during this internship, he chose topology optimization of a bicycle handlebar stem and its subsequent preparation for manufacturing using the DMLS technology.

The first phase of the internship included disassembly of the component and analysis of interface dimensions with the ATOS 3D scanner. Equipped with the required dimensions, Jakub could begin to design a completely new handlebar stem. With the help of generative design, two concepts were proposed, one of which was prepared for print and it will be manufactured soon.

In the second part of his internship, Jakub delved into the design of a console for parking slot marking. The results of his design are displayed in the photos.
