What is it?
We use the chip machining method primarily in connection with AM technologies.
With the help of a rotary cutting tool, material is removed during machining in order
to create the part in the required shape, given dimensions and degree of accuracy.
What is it used for?
Chip machining is most often used in the additive industry as a finishing operation
to achieve precise dimensions and desired surface quality, e.g. for openings
and shaped surfaces.
Main advantages
- high dimensional accuracy
- surface quality
- improvement of mechanical properties
